Introduction to CQD, and the Federation

Welcome to the CQD Federation website. First let me introduce this site.

The CQD federation website contains some original writings by myself and also some views and interpretations into the world of martial arts. I have gone into certain detail in my writings but please be aware that they are not exhaustive by any means but they do give an insight into some of my beliefs in martial arts and act as a compliment to this resource. Below you will find a brief introduction into CQD, explaining a bit more about it as an art.

I adapted Chen Quon Do from many forms of the arts which include bases of Qi Gong, JKD, Tai Chi,

Wing Chun Kuen and Goju-Kai style Kung Fu.

The art itself is extremely powerful, and unlike others it has minimal limits and allows your style to flow freely.

In CQD there are no limits on the number of moves, but all can be used to immobilise, and counteract an opponent, whilst remaining at a high energy

level - this is the CQD section.

However, to maximise the possibilities and effects against every situation possible, the introduction to a mixture of martial arts is used.

The art itself requires intense concentration, which will result in immediate reaction to a particular situation.

There are three parts to this art which are detailed below:

1). Defence-using swift motion and concentration to avoid total contact with your opponent.

2). Interceptive - Using complete focus to enable an attack to be used as a defence method.

3). Attack - Using extremely powerful moves and intense energy to attack an opponent with the speed and power required to finish a situation instantly, whilst using speed to avoid your opponents defence. This is known as a ?irect hit.

Also, in CQD, a number of weapons are used in co-operation with its training practices, which include:

Nunchaku, Throwing Stars and Darts, along with 3 sectional staffs, mini staffs, unchained-Nunchaku and single length long poles to name a selection.

The training program is intense; as a well-trained martial artist has advantage over a lesser-trained opponent and enough training is never possible to achieve. That is why in CQD over 50% of training is physically inclined.

As a result of the development of Chen Quon Do, a Federation of 3 students was set up. The Chen Quon Do Federation was created.

Feel Free to browse the site, where you will find some of my views and writings, history, culture, ideas and other information about martial arts. There is also a discussion forum which can you register and post into, a guestbook, links, videos and user contributed articles. Make sure you bookmark us for future changes as we hope to add more content frequently.
